Lower Lunada Bay provides easy access to beaches, as well as the walking/jogging trail that runs along the center of the main road. In upper Lunada bay, many homes offer ocean views, and throughout Lunada you will find large flat lots, numerous parks, and sports fields.
Malaga Cove has "old world" charm, that is reminiscent of an Italian village. Many of the homes offer spectacular ocean and "queens necklace" views. You will also find the Malaga Cove plaza, the oceanside "Palos Verdes swim and athletic club", the Palos Verdes country club, the library, city offices, and more. Homes are predominately Spanish in style, with red tile roofs.
Located at the crest of the hills above Malaga Cove, Monte Malaga is the most recently developed area of the city and has larger lot sizes than you will find in most of Palos Verdes. You will find many large homes - mansions - in this area. Due to the high elevation, you will find the most breathtaking ocean and coastline views. Like much of Palos Verdes, homes are mostly Spanish in style, with red tile roofs.
Valmonte offers winding streets lined with mature eucalyptus trees. The idyllic neighborhoods with tree-shaded streets are not typical of California and are more reminiscent of the types of neighborhoods you might find back east. Adjacent to Valmonte is a "bridal path" where locals walk, jog, and bike, enjoying the natural beauty of the peninsula. It is a short walk or bike ride from Valmonte to the riviera village, where you can enjoy dining, shopping, and other community events.
